Cee-Lo Green returns to Twitter to apologise for ‘idiotic’ rape tweets



American Singer Cee-Lo Green real name Thomas DeCarlo Callaway has made a sensational return to Twitter following his bizarre rape tweets that prompted him to leave the microblogging site Twitter.

The 39-year-old singer made no fans when he made comments suggesting 'it wasn’t rape if the victim was unconscious, saying: ‘If someone is passed out they are not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent’.


Reports says, The comments by the former judge on The Voice USA came after he pleaded no contest on Friday to charges that he slipped a woman ecstasy without her consent back in 2012.

Prosecutors rejected a rape charge against Green when he was charged with the drug felony in October the following year, with the woman claiming that she had no memory of what happened between eating with Green at a restaurant and waking up naked in his bed.

The rape claim was thrown out and the 39-year-old singer was consequently sentenced to three years of formal probation and 45 days of community service.

He later removed his comments, apologised and then deleted his account.

Now he’s back to apologise some more, tweeting: ‘I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe
